PIRATE STEW

If I could be what I wanted to be
The life of a pirate would be the life for me
I’d live on a ship and the sea I’d call home
And I’d fly a black flag with a skull & cross-bones

Well it’s yo ho, yo ho
A pirate's life is the way to go

I’d be mean, I’d be cruel & I’d growl like a dog
And I’d feel right at home in that thick pea soup fog
I’d steal all your money and jewelry that’s best
And bury it deep in a big treasure chest

chorus

I’d gouge out me eye with one mighty scratch
Just so I could wear me a pirate eye patch
And me teeth I’d not brush, oh, like I was told
They’d turn rotten and yeller and look just like gold

chorus

Oh, if I was a pirate, I’m telling you
I’d make me so happy all the things I could do
Me mateys I don’t like I’d make walk the plank
The sharks would have dinner & it’s me that they’d thank

chorus

Now there’s only one thing that’s keeping from me

The life of a pirate, I wish I could be
It’s something so scary, I fear it the most
It’s horrible, it’s gruesome, it’s worse than burnt toast

For when I’m on a ship, I don’t like it one bit
‘cause when it starts a rock’n it makes me sea-sick
First me tummy feels bad, then I start to hic-up
Then I lean overboard and I always throw up

chorus
